Areas We Serve Around Charlotte

Impex Auto Glass is based in Charlotte at 5641 David Cox Rd, and its technicians bring the glass to your vehicle. This site covers the whole city and puts its weight on the west and south-west: down I-485 to Steele Creek and Pineville, and out I-85 across the Catawba River into Gaston County. Here is what that looks like town by town, with the roads you are likely to be on and roughly how far each is from the Charlotte shop.

Wherever you are, the job is the same: the glass is checked against your vehicle by VIN, fitted where the car is parked, and the forward camera calibrated on site after a windshield when the car needs it. For the details, see windshield replacement in Charlotte, NC, back glass replacement and car window replacement.

Charlotte and Steele Creek

Charlotte is North Carolina’s largest city, with 874,579 people at the 2020 census, and it is laid out around its interstates: I-77 and I-85 both run through it, I-277 loops Uptown, I-485 circles the whole city and US 74 runs east and west. Impex’s own shop is on David Cox Rd, about 11 miles and 20 minutes from the city center. Steele Creek, the south-west corner of the city, is part of Charlotte and served the same way.

Pineville

Pineville is a town of 10,602 people (2020 census) in the southernmost part of Mecklenburg County, between Charlotte and Fort Mill, South Carolina. I-485 and NC 51 run through it. From the Charlotte shop it is about 21 miles, roughly half an hour by US 21 and I-77. If your auto policy was written in South Carolina rather than North Carolina, the windshield replacement cost page explains how South Carolina’s glass rule differs.

Gastonia

Gastonia is the Gaston County seat, with 80,411 people in 2020, about 27 miles and 40 minutes from the Charlotte shop by I-485 and I-85. I-85, US 29, US 74, US 321 and NC 274 all run through it, and Ranlo, Lowell, Dallas and Spencer Mountain sit next to it. It has a page of its own: windshield replacement in Gastonia, NC.

Belmont

Belmont is a small city of 15,010 people (2020) in Gaston County, about nine miles east of Gastonia. It was once known as Garibaldi Station, after the railroad stop built there in the early 1870s. I-85, US 29, US 74, NC 7 and NC 273 serve it, and Cramerton, McAdenville, Lowell and Mount Holly are its neighbors. From the Charlotte shop it is about 19 miles, roughly half an hour by I-485.

Cramerton

Cramerton is one of Belmont’s neighbors in Gaston County, a short way west along the same roads. Impex covers it the same way it covers Belmont, from the Charlotte shop by I-485 and I-85.

Mount Holly

Mount Holly is a small city of 17,703 people (2020) in north-eastern Gaston County, just west of the Catawba River, north of I-85 and south of NC 16. McAdenville, Stanley, Spencer Mountain and Lowell are close by. From the Charlotte shop it is about 14 miles, roughly 25 minutes by I-485, the closest of the Gaston County towns.

What changes from town to town, and what does not

The job itself is the same in Mount Holly as it is in Steele Creek. The glass is ordered by VIN, the technician brings it to the car, and Impex’s quotes are meant to include delivery and fuel, so a visit to Gastonia should not cost more for the drive than a visit across town in Charlotte. What does change is the timing. The Gaston County towns sit 14 to 27 miles from the Charlotte shop, and Pineville about 21, so give Impex an address when you ask for a quote and it can plan the visit around the route.

The law does not change at the county line either. A glass claim in Gaston County works exactly as it does in Mecklenburg: comprehensive coverage normally pays for broken glass less your deductible, and under G.S. 58-3-180 you choose who replaces it. The one real difference on this list is across the state line: a policy written in South Carolina follows South Carolina’s glass rule, explained on the windshield replacement cost page.

Booking a visit in any of these towns

  • Call, or use the quote form on the contact page, with the vehicle, the VIN and the damage.
  • Say where the car will be: a home address, a workplace or a parking lot.
  • For a windshield, a dry, level spot with room to open both front doors is ideal; a garage or carport helps if rain is forecast.
  • If you are claiming, have your insurer’s name and policy number ready. Impex works with all major insurance providers.
